I started my legal career at law firms that worked for the insurance companies and the businesses they insured. I learned how the insurance companies investigate injuries caused by their clients, collect evidence against the victims, and evaluate claims - in terms of dollars and cents - not in regard to the lives that were broken and forever changed. I worked with adjusters to put a dollar figure on the traumatic injuries suffered by people in Illinois in car accidents and workplace accidents. I also learned how insurance companies minimize their risk of paying money to the injured. I grew frustrated with my role in the process, because an insurance company is in business to collect money and keep it. They are not in the business of compassion for the injured people. Now I want to use the knowledge and experience I gained while working for them, and put it to work for you.
