Location: NYC I’m looking for advice from attorneys or anyone familiar with New York premises liability cases. A few weeks ago, I slipped and fell inside a Hilton in New York City after walking through water that had leaked from the ceiling. After I fell, hotel staff placed a bucket under the leak. The incident was reported immediately, and hotel management created an internal incident report. (No sign & i have video of waitress/server saying she had radio’d about leak with no response and acknowledging this has been location of previous leak) Since then: I went to urgent care the same day. I’ve had ongoing knee and shoulder pain. My knee MRI confirmed a torn medial meniscus and other knee findings. physical therapy for my shoulder starts 8/4 and hopefully i get a diagnosis soon. The fall has affected my ability to exercise, run, and do many activities I normally enjoy. I had floor tickets to Jay Z all 3 nights at Yankee stadium and wasn’t able to attend nights 2 and 3 due to the pain i was in after suffering through night 1. I recently started a new job that may require physical activity, and I’m concerned about how these injuries could affect my work. The hotel has already acknowledged my claim and their claims department is handling it. I also sent a written request asking them to preserve any surveillance footage from the area where I fell.
