Caitlin’s practice centers generally on civil litigation, with an emphasis on ERISA litigation. She is committed to assisting individuals secure the benefits that they have earned. Caitlin handles long and short-term disability insurance claims, health benefit coverage denial claims, life insurance claims, accidental death and dismemberment claims, retirement and pension benefit claims, and other employee benefit matters. Prior to joining Essex Richards, Caitlin attended Wake Forest University School of Law. While in law school, she worked as a teaching assistant for both the legal writing program and the LL.M. degree program. Caitlin also attended East Carolina University, graduating Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Arts in English, a minor in journalism, and a certificate in technical and professional writing.

Michael was born and raised in Charlotte, North Carolina. Michael graduated from Providence Senior High, and went on to graduate summa cum laude from The University of Alabama with a Bachelor’s of Arts in Political Science, along with minors in History and Spanish. Subsequently, Michael earned his Juris Doctor from Charlotte School of Law, where he graduated magna cum laude. While in law school, Michael worked as a law clerk for Dummit Fradin, in addition to serving as a Civil Procedure teaching assistant for Professors Meredith Jeffries and Colin Stockton. Additionally, while in law school, Michael was a member of the Order of the Crown Honor Society, and he also served as President of Phi Delta Phi legal honor society.. Currently, Michael’s professional focus is litigation, where he utilizes his competitive drive and relentless preparation to advocate for his clients. Michael has a keen interest and respect for the Constitution, and the values and principles it promotes. Michael diligently strives to not only exceed his clients’ goals and expectations, but to do so in an efficient and professional manner.
