As a French native speaker, I can also assist clients in contract negotiations and dispute resolution in French when translation is necessary.. HEALTHCARE LAW. My practice focuses on assisting health care providers to navigate the complexities of health care regulations, including the Affordable Care Act (“ObamaCare”). Our clients include individual providers, physician groups, hospitals, neurology centers, orthopaedic centers, eye centers, dialysis centers, behavioral health facilities, ICF/IIDs, etc.. Imbedded in the Health Care Practice at Brouse McDowell, I analyze physician/hospital integration models for compliance with Stark Law and the Anti-Kickback Statute, HIPAA issues, Medicare/Medicaid compliance issues, medical staff issues, telemedicine, etc. I draft, review and negotiate a variety of legal documents including hospital medical bylaws, employment agreements, personal services agreements, medical director agreements, lease agreements, operating agreements, code of regulations, policies, etc.. IMMIGRATION. My immigration practice primarily focuses on employment-based immigration for medical professionals, scientists, engineers, business executives and researchers in the areas of health care, biotech, education, retail and manufacturing. I represent petitioners such as hospitals, universities, small and large manufacturers, large retailers, and individuals.. PRO-BONO ACTIVITIES. My pro-bono work involves helping ex-offenders with sealing criminal records (expungements) and/or obtaining a Certificate of Qualification of Employment (CQE).

As the managing partner of The DuBose Law Firm, LLC, Ms. DuBose’s primary practice area is healthcare law. Shakeba’s practice focuses on defending various healthcare providers, including physicians, nurses, and psychologists before their licensure boards as well as representing home health agencies and ambulette transportation providers before state agencies, such as the Ohio Department of Medicaid and Ohio Department of Developmental Disabilities, relative to audits and certifications allowing state reimbursement. Ms. DuBose also advises clients on day-to-day matters such as regulatory compliance, HIPAA compliance, contracting, and employment relations.. Prior to establishing The DuBose Law Firm, LLC, Shakeba served as Associate General Counsel for a managed care plan and started her legal career as an Ohio Assistant Attorney General in the Health and Human Services Division.
