Location: Ohio We live in one side of a duplex, the other side is occupied by our landlord's mentally unstable son- he's become paranoid that we're doing things to bother him (we're not) and as a direct result our landlord has decided to terminate our lease. We are complying with this request even though we technically only got a 29 day notice and have found a new place, we'll be gone before September 1st. August rent was paid prior to the notice to vacate, we haven't had any other notices or communications with the landlord prior to this other than paying rent on time every month. Landlord sent an email yesterday asking for photos of the house to show a prospective new tenant. We declined, since we're in the process of moving so everything is a mess and full of boxes and honestly I feel no obligation to help her. At 9:10pm she sent an email informing us she will be here in the morning to take photos herself. We went ahead and took some photos and sent them to her and reminded her she needs to give a 24 hour notice to enter while we're still tenants. She was unsatisfied with the photos and says she'll be here in the morning. I intend to record the interaction if she shows up, I'm not sure how this will escalate but I would like some guidance on what I should be doing to hold her accountable if our rights are infringed…

Location: Toledo Ohio. The place is just disgusting, peak slumlord building. Nothing is sealed properly, gaps in the windows, theres holes in the ceiling if you open the cabinets, and there’s mold in the bathroom. The laundry room is terrifying. I was cleaning the kitchen and straight up had a breakdown because I kept wiping the same areas, scrubbing with all my might, and they’re still dirty/dusty. The paint is chipping in the sunroom, in the laundry room, and the kitchen. Speaking of the sunroom, the screen is just falling off the hinges so it’s open to the world and only one rickety old door blocking the area off, also chipping and gaps all around it. Idk, I was rushed to move and signed the first lease I could afford. I don’t want to live here. I’m going to be calling attorneys tomorrow, but I’m not legal savvy or anything but this lease is like 5 pages and I paid him through Venmo, as will the concurring rent payments be paid through Venmo. Like this is trashy as fuck right? There has to be a way out of this, please someone help me.

I'm going to try my best to keep this as vague and short as possible but still include all necessary information. Unfortunately even with me trying to keep it short, this is going to be a long one. Apologies in advance. Location: Franklin county Ohio. Quick timeline: -tax year 2023 property valuation spiked our property value almost $80,000 -Due to residing in a zip code that is notorious for USPS not delivering mail consistently, we never received the triennial evaluation and unfortunately did not know it was our legal responsibility to get to this information at the time. - taxes for tax year 2023 are not paid until 2024 which is when we noticed our mortgage payment increase almost $200 a month - appeal window for tax year 2023 closes in April 2024. -Semi-annual tax bill is due in June of 2024 for tax year 2023 - appeal window for tax year 2024 does not open until November 2024 - we appealed as soon as the appeal window opened in November 2024 -We were granted an appealed hearing in May of 2025 where we reached an agreement of a $31,000 valuation deduction. This reduction was based on two things: - curb appeal downgraded from good to average - and extra 600 plus square feet was added to our property that does not exist - appeal was finalized and updated in the system in May of 2026 - rolling tax credit was given in late May of 2026 for tax year…

Location: Ohio My girlfriend and I moved into our first floor apartment in the Columbus/Worthington, Ohio area at the end of May. Our lease runs through next June. We have been dealing with ongoing water intrusion and flooding that management has not adequately resolved. We first reported the issue 32 days ago, on July 10. Maintenance came into the apartment once at that time, and that has been the only time maintenance has physically entered the apartment regarding this issue. Management has never entered the apartment to inspect or address the problem. During rain, water comes up through the grout and flooring in our bedroom and living room. The outside ground around the apartment is approximately at window level. A few weeks after our initial report, we contacted management again and were told they were waiting on a roofing estimate because they believed the issue was related to the roof and downspouts. We explained that water was actively coming up through the floor. I reported the issue again yesterday after another significant water intrusion. A maintenance request was created, but it has not been assigned. We have now been dealing with active water intrusion for almost 24 hours. I also previously found what appeared to be mold or black spotting on a baseboard in the same general area affected by the water intrusion. Location: Ohio, USA. I need to move soon, and when emailing with my prospective landlord, they asked for a copy of a ledger and my lease agreement. I couldn't find either in the online portal that I pay rent through, so I emailed my current landlord/leasing company asking them for the documents, and they could only provide a ledger. They told me that they couldn't get me a copy of the lease until I signed it, and when I told them I needed the lease from my current stay and not some new one, they said, "I am not seeing a copy of your lease in the system from prior years." When I told them that I was living in one of their apartments and therefore definitely had a lease, they stopped responding. I just forwarded them the email they sent when I signed the lease confirming that I signed the lease. I need to know what can I do. I need this lease. Can I get this info from sort of legal means?
