Prior to becoming an attorney, Eric worked for ten years in journalism as a reporter and copy editor for daily newspapers, a newspaper that covered the internet service provider sector, and a magazine that covered the pharmaceutical industry. In 2002, he published one of the first full length accounts of President Nixon's trip to China, titled Nixon's China Trip..
