Jim Messervy joins Provence Messervy, LLC after more than 25 years of serving Dorchester County as both an Assistant Solicitor and Magistrate Judge, both of which prepared him for an active criminal defense practice. He has had a tremendous amount of success representing and defending those charged with DUIs with some of those cases reaching the Supreme Court.A graduate of the Citadel and the University of South Carolina School of Law, Jim has also served the community as attorney for the Town of Ridgeville, President and Legal Counsel for Dorchester Paws (formerly Francis R. Willis SPCA), and former director the Dorchester County Heart Society. He is also an avid supporter and sponsor of Children in Crisis, the Summerville YMCA and the Citadel Brigadier Foundation. Jim is very active in children’s athletics and is passionate about addressing children’s needs in the family law context where he has handled more than a 1,000 cases.Born and raised in Summerville, South Carolina, Messervy brings more than more 40 years of legal experience.
