I was born raised and educated in Nashville and Middle Tennessee. It's home. My father was a lawyer in Madison,Tn and I always wanted to be a lawyer. My first job was to go to his law office on Saturday morning to clean the office while he met with clients or did some paper work. After college , I worked in a family business before law school. It gave me an appreciation of making a living .I decided to go to law school, but I had a wife and daughter so I went to the Nashville School of Law and worked during the day. During law school, I clerked for a Circuit Court Judge in Nashville. It gave me an inside look at how the courts run rather than a sterile law school approach. I enjoy representing the person who runs afoul of the law law or is taken advantage of by big insurance companies. I want to level the playing field so the police or insurance claims adjusters do not run all over of the courtroom, I like to take my youngest son on fishing trips. I never miss a Titan's SEC football. A little known fact is I enjoy cooking on a Big Green Egg Churchill stated the greatest gift the English gave America is the right to a jury trial. I think that is more true today than ever.

Michael Hartup has dedicated his practice to representing disabled individuals from the greater Jackson, Tennessee, and Paducah, Kentucky, areas as they seek Social Security Disability or Veterans Compensationbenefits. He believes in the compassionate and respectful representation of the unfortunate individuals who have been left unable to work to support themselves and their families due to injury or illness.. Mike earned an undergraduate bachelor’s degree with magna cum laude honors and his Juris Doctor from the University of Memphis. He is licensed to practice in all Tennessee State Courts and in the United States District Court for the Western district of Tennessee. Mike represents hundreds of disabled individuals in hearings and appeals every year, but he makes it a priority to meet with each of his clients personally and to be available to their individual needs. He understands that many are bewildered and frustrated by the bureaucratic claims process. He believes it is important to take the time to explain the process and law to his clients and to prepare them for what to expect throughout each step of appeal.. Mike lives with his wife, Mary-Glenn, and their two daughters in Jackson, Tennessee. He and his family are members of St. Luke’s Episcopal Church in downtown Jackson. Mike is an avid runner and cyclist. He also enjoys fly-fishing and backpacking. He has run the St. Jude Marathon in both Memphis and Nashville. If he is not in his office or in hearings working diligently for his clients, you can probably find him running or riding the roads of Madison and Crockett Counties.
