I spoke up about and was ignored, then filed an OSHA complaint, and now he's ghosting me and not giving me any hours. Basically what the title says. I recently started working at a privately owned pet store that specializes in a specific type of animal. The animals are taken care of, but the employees are not. The owner (my boss) asked me a few days after I was hired to give him suggestions on things around the store that can be improved upon, "because women have a better eye for that kind of thing". So I made a list, brought up a few things with him, and he proceeded to make excuses and brush off my suggestions, acting totally surprised that I would even have the audacity to do so. The things I brought up to him? That there wasn't a proper first aid kit, just an old box of bandaids. I tell him that he can find plenty of first aid kits on Amazon (I also was not shown where the "firstaid kit" was, having to find it myself). That the garbage disposal in the back sink was completely exposed, making it a risk of injury. Once again, you can find mesh sink strainers on Amazon. Location: Texas Hi all. I am currently pregnant. Earlier this year, my coworker went out on maternity leave. She was allowed to work two weeks from home before her leave began and did not have to go through HR. She did have a high risk pregnancy, and I have the same diagnosis. When I spoke to my boss about also wanting to work from home for two weeks before my leave, I was denied unless I could provide a doctor’s note. I did, and now have to provide a daily, detailed task list along with an Accommodation Request Form filled out by me and a Medical Inquiry Form filled out by my doctor. My coworker did not have to do any of this. I would also like to add that another coworker was allowed to work two weeks from home before her maternity leave last year and did not have a high risk pregnancy, and also did not have to go through HR. Is there a way, legally, that I could deny this process as it has been unfairly enforced upon myself? Edit to add: We have the same job title and manager. Sorry about that! Location: Texas, USA I recently quit my job as a delivery driver for a small medical supply company in Texas. I gave two weeks notice and worked through my last day without any issues. When my final direct deposit hit yesterday, it was only about $150 instead of the usual $1,350 or so. I reached out to my former boss asking why the check was so short. He texted back saying they deducted $1,200 to cover the repair cost for a dent on the rear bumper of the delivery truck I drove during my last week. The thing is, that dent was already on the van when I started working there six months ago, and I even mentioned it to my manager on my first day, though I didn't get an inspection sheet signed at the time. I never signed any agreement authorizing them to make payroll deductions for damages to company property. On top of that, taking $1,200 out dropped my actual hourly pay for those last 80 hours way below minimum wage. My boss says since I was the primary driver that week it falls on me and that Texas is an at-will state so they can do what they need to cover business losses.
