I purchased a used 2015 Subaru WRX from a Toyota dealer that has significant issues that were completely undisclosed to me. What route should I take? (TX) | Jul 24, 2026 | Sourced from Reddit
Location: Texas Yesterday, I went to a Toyota dealer and financed a used Subaru WRX. On the online listing, there are zero mechanical issues listed. I test drove the vehicle and noticed a slight rattle/knock, and did not immediately think about it. I assumed because I was not told of any issues, that it was in full working order. It was disclosed to me during the test drive that the AC was not blowing cold. Fine. I take the car home and immediately notice the knocking sound, and come to find out it’s synonymous with Rod Knock. I’m currently at the dealership waiting to speak with the GM to try and unwind the sale. I have spoken with the service manager, and come to find out they actually recommended a new clutch for the car upon their initial inspection when it was taken in, before the car was listed for sale. This was not disclosed to me. Lastly, the trunk does not open unless the emergency latch is pulled from the inside. I’m located in Texas. If the dealer refuses to unwind the sale or offer to fix the issues at hand, what routes can I legally take to try and amend this?
