Mark A. Metzger III was born in Webster, Texas and raised in Missouri City, Texas. Mark attended Elkins High School prior to attending and graduating from the Marine Military Academy in 1999. While at Elkins High School, Mark played trumpet in the marching band and an officer in the JROTC program with participation in the silent drill team, model rocketry club, and color guard. At the Marine Military Academy, Mark served as the Platoon Sergeant of Charlie Company and participated on the football team. During his high school years, Mark was also cadet officer and later second lieutenant senior member in the Civil Air Patrol and a member of the Boy Scouts.. Mark received his Honorable Discharge in 2007 at the rank of Sergeant.  Subsequently, Mark worked for Lockheed Martin/Martin Marietta as a site security supervisor and other various security contractors.. Upon returning to his native Texas working as a ranch hand on an exotic game ranch in Centerville, Texas, Mark then attended and graduated from Texas A&M University in 2009 with a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy.
