"What does the symbol on your logo mean?". Clients who visit my office or website will find an unqiue symbol. The symbol is an "ampersand" my partner and I designed when we started the firm.. The ampersand "&" is a logogram, that is a drawing that represents a word. The symbol originates in Roman times as the word "et" as in "etc." or "et al" meaning "and." In the centuries that followed, the repeated writing of the word "et" morphed into a symbol.. Because my firm believes effective legal solutions are best achieved through a collaborative effort between our team and you, we elected to create a logo that reflects this view. Thus, we took elements of each historical ampersand and combined them to create our own collaborative ampersand and used it as our logo.

Robert Moreton

Firm: WhitbeckBennett, PLLC
761C Monroe St , Herndon , Virginia 20170
Practice Areas: Family, Chapter 7, Chapter 13
Robert D. Moreton is a Partner at WhitbeckBennett, focused primarily on family law and bankruptcy. Prior to joining the firm, Robert co-founded a small law firm in 2012 where he gained invaluable litigation experience representing clients throughout Northern Virginia. In more than a decade of practice, Robert gained particular familiarity with the complex interplay of divorce and bankruptcy and possesses unique experience practicing in bankruptcy and state court.. Robert spent his early years moving across the country until his family settled in the D.C. area where he completed high school. A “black sheep” in a family of engineers he began his collegiate studies as an NCAA Div. III lacrosse player at Stevens Institute of Technology. He ultimately shifted focus and transferred to North Carolina State University, where he graduated with a B.S. in 2007. He received his J.D., magna cum laude, from Nova Southeastern University in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida in 2010 before returning to the D.C. area.. No two families are the same and every inter-partner dynamic is unique. Robert believes firmly that clients deserve an attorney who gives time and effort to understanding their specific circumstances rather than a “one size fits all” approach to litigation.. Outside of work, Robert enjoys spending time in his woodshop and on the golf course to decompress.
