I am a local boy, born and raised in Whatcom County, and I understand the complexities and inner-workings of this very interesting and diverse community.  My familiies have lived here for at least 5 generations and I am proud of my heritage and deep roots here.. My family incorporates two of Whatcom County's biggest industries; commercial fishing and farming.  I grew up around boats, cows, and in the woods, and was fortunate to have parents that supported and encouraged my interests as a kid and I credit them greatly for being the first college graduate in our extended family.. Now I have a family of my own, my wife Heather and I have 3 wonderful kids who are active in sports and the community and we are lucky enough to get a chance to be involved in their school and athletics and we feel lucky to be able to raise them in Bellingham and the Northwest.. Not only do I relate to and understand our clients, I understand our community and the morals and ideals I believe it cherishes.  As a former prosecutor I have good working relationships with the prosecutors and am able to use those relationships to paint our clients as people, not just a file or a case number.  That's our winning edge..
