From a very young age, Katelyn knew that practicing law was in her future. After graduating from Holy Names Academy in 2016, Katelyn began her collegiate softball career at the University of Dallas and was a catcher for three years before a back injury prevented her from playing her senior year.. During the summer of 2019, Katelyn completed an externship for the Nevada Supreme Court under Justice Stiglich. In 2020, Katelyn graduated cum laude from Dallas with a degree in political philosophy and a concentration in legal studies..
