Tim Jacobson has been recognized as a Wisconsin "Super Lawyer," as well as an Emmy Award-winning documentary filmmaker and a best-selling novelist. A dedicated conservationist, Tim has worked as a conservancy executive director and served as president of a nonprofit public-interest environmental law firm, as well as serving as president of an 11-lawyer traditional firm. His legal work has included representing Wisconsin commercial corn growers as part of $110 million settlement of nationwide class action lawsuit with claims arising from genetically-modified “StarLink” corn. With co-counsel, he achieved a multimillion-dollar settlement of an environmental class action on behalf of 300 property owners. More recently, his legal practice has concentrated on pursuing environmental nuisance claims against frac sand mining companies. He has successfully appealed circuit court and administrative decisions, including obtaining victories before the Wisconsin Court of Appeals, the Iowa Supreme Court, and defeating an opponent's petition for certiorari before the U.S. Supreme Court. His legal work to protect the rights of citizens and the natural environment has garnered positive news coverage around the country. With regard to one of his prior law firm partnerships, the online edition of USA Today said, “If the firm of O’Keefe Jacobson isn’t careful, it may wind up giving lawyers a good name.” Saint Paul Pioneer Press called O’Keefe Jacobson “one of the most Internet-savvy law firms in existence.” His court admissions include the Supreme Court of the United States, the State Bar of Wisconsin, the Federal District Courts for Eastern and Western Districts of Wisconsin, the United States Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit, and the State Bar of Minnesota. Additionally, he’s a Major in the U.S. Air Force Auxiliary (Civil Air Patrol), where he has served as a Mission Pilot and Assistant Wing Legal Officer in the State of Wisconsin. He earned a black belt in karate, a pilot certificate in land and seaplanes, and a remote pilot certificate for small Unmanned Aircraft Systems.

Believing that trust is the centerpiece of a lawyer’s relationship with my clients, I practice in the areas of business and corporate law (including business acquisition and sales), real estate and municipal law, and banking and collection law.. Businesses rely on my expertise for a wide range of issues, including corporate legal compliance, employment matters, business succession, contract review and drafting, and sales and acquisitions.. There are times, unfortunately, when businesses encounter unavoidable disputes, whether they are with an employee, a vendor, a customer, or a business partner. When confronted with these difficult and stressful situations, I am able to evaluate the specific needs and desires of the client and always seek to resolve the dispute in a way that serves the client’s best interests.. I also offer extensive experience in the area of foreclosure and collection law. Banks and businesses have spent years building and maintaining their reputations. Knowing this, I assist clients in resolving their collection disputes in ways that are consistent with their community values.. In the municipal arena, I advise and assist towns and local government bodies on a wide variety of issues, including ordinance drafting and enforcement, the open meetings and open records law, farmland preservation and other zoning issues, and contract negotiation, drafting and enforcement.. Whatever the legal specialty, I am driven to help put clients in the right position, by working with them to define their objectives while utilizing my creative problem-solving skills to reach cost-effective solutions.. A native of Adell, Wisconsin, I graduated from Marquette University Law School and have been with Nowlan & Mouat since my admission to the Wisconsin bar in 2005. I served as Chairman of the Board of Directors for the Leadership Development Academy, Inc., and am past President of the Rock County Bar Association. I currently sit on the Board for KANDU, Inc. I recently served on the board of the South Wisconsin Chapter of the American Red Cross and have served my church on various committees and councils. I am a member of the Wisconsin State Bar, the Rock County Bar Association, and the Wisconsin Towns Association.
