Jim Butler handles cases of career ending injuries in personal injury, workers compensation and social security cases. He represents members of many of the building trades; electricians, carpenters, laborers, boilermakers etc. Jim is a past president of the San Francisco Trial Lawyers Association, and currently serves as president of the California Applicant's Attorneys Association. He has been recognized as being in the top 5% of practicing attorneys in Northern California by Superlawyers yearly since 2006. Jim is AV Preeminent  rated by Martindale Hubbell. Jim frequentlly teaches other lawyers on a variety of subjects, and also lectures frequently before labor unions on rights and remedies availible to injured workers.. Jim has practiced at his own firm since 2009.  Previously he was a trial team leader at the Veen Firm (1987-2009), and practiced with the Legal Aid Society of Alameda County (1982-1987).
