Mr. Yuhl, a native of Los Angeles and a Loyola High School Graduate, earned hisBachelor of Science degree in Journalism from the University of Colorado in1983 where he also served as Assistant Sports Information Director. Mr. Yuhlmanaged the critical media aspects to comply with Title IX effects in opening upcollege athletics to women, as well as being men's football and basketballassistant . He worked as a free-lance sportswriter for the Denver Post, RockyMountain News, the Colorado Golf Association, ESPN, and in the Denver Broncospress box on Sundays. Chris returned to California to attend law school at the University of San Diegowhere he earned his Juris Doctorate degree in 1987. While at USD, Mr. Yuhlearned top honors as the American Jurisprudence Award winner in Torts andwas privileged to represent USD on its National Trial Team which finished asNational Semi-Finalists.. His journey to the courtroom led him to the prestigious 160-lawyer defense firmof Haight, Dickson, Brown & Bonesteel in Los Angeles. There he focused oncivil litigation and trials for the firm’s corporate and insurance clients. Mr. Yuhlquickly made it into the courtroom, with juries returning favorable verdicts inmore than a dozen civil trials in his first 5 years. In 1990, just three years intopractice, Mr. Yuhl obtained the largest monetary recovery in the defense firm’sthen 54-year history with his $1.7 million victory in the “flying triangle landslide”case. Chris also tried criminal cases as a pro bono prosecutor for the Los AngelesCity Attorney’s office obtaining convictions in every case assigned to him.. Turning the page again, Chris partnered with his brother Eric in plaintiff’spractice in 1992 where he made his impact early. In a landmark juryverdict, the first case to ever prove the traumatic activation of post-poliosyndrome successfully, a jury rendered a seven-figure judgment for his elderlyclient. He successfully recovered more than $3million for the parents of two 21-year-olds killed on PCH because of a dangerous road design that had beenignored by the county for decades despite similar fatal accidents. Thesettlement led to a reconfiguration of the intersection of Pacific Coast Highwayand Sunset Blvd eliminating the hazard and improving safety. In 2019 his teamreceived a $23.9 million verdict on behalf of an injured child involving a defectivefetal heart monitoring device. The verdict was upheld on appeal, ultimatelysettling for $26.2 million.. Mr. Yuhl runs a variety of the firm’s Mass Tort matters involving defective drugs,medical devices, and rail accidents. In 2012, he was appointed to nationalleadership In the Wright Medical Technologies MDL/JCCP in a defective medicaldevice litigation involving 8,000 plaintiffs. In November 2015, Chris and hisleadership group received a stunning $11million verdict for a single plaintiff,from a Federal Court jury in Atlanta in the first bellwether trial against themanufacturer. The MDL/JCCP eventually settled for $. He has sincebeen appointed to leadership in MDL 2949 in the Eastern District of Arkansasregarding another defective hip implant which has resulted in millions recoveredfor plaintiffs..
