Mr. Willick also holds a bachelor of arts degree in communications from the University of California at San Diego, received in 1991. An NCAA swimmer back in college and named an All-American for his aquatic prowess in high school, Mr. Willick today in his spare time coaches masters swimming at Loyola Marymount University and still competes in the sport, now at the masters level. He won first-place honors for his age group (10th overall) in the 2000 Waikiki Roughwater Swim and took first-place again for his age group (3rd overall in the wetsuit division) in the Alcatraz-to-San Francisco Sharkfest swim. Since 1986, Mr. Willick has been a lifeguard keeping swimmers and surfers safe along the beaches of Los Angeles County.
