Attorney Miriam Cooper has over 30 years of experience in family law cases.  She represents parents and children throughout all stages of a divorce including child custody and support, visitation, and maintenance. Miriam Cooper, a graduate of The John Marshall Law School, has been practicing law for 30 years.  She is the President of the Northwest Suburban Bar Association.  She is also a member of its Matrimonial Law Committee, Chair of the Law Day Committee, and Co-Chair of the Awards Committee, former co-chair of the Real Estate Law Committee, a member of the Illinois State Bar Association and the Illinois Real Estate Lawyers’ Association.  Miriam Cooper is a certified Guardian ad Litem and Child Representative for the Circuit Court of Cook County and achieved her mediation training at Northwestern University School of Law.. Ms. Cooper is also an active member of her community. She has been a Board Member of Township High School District 214, the second largest high school district in the State of Illinois ( 6 comprehensive high schools). She is also a Trustee of Community Education, a community-based organization that offers educational and social programs. Ms. Cooper lives in Arlington Heights and has one daughter. She understands divorce and custody from both a personal and professional level and approaches all of her cases sensitively and professionally.
