Thank you for considering my law firm for your legal needs. I am a law graduate of the University of Nairobi, Regent University, Harvard University and the U.S. Army Judge Advocate General’s Legal Center and School. I became a member of the Virginia State Bar in 2003. I also hold admissions in the United States Court of Appeals for Veterans Claims, the United States District Court, Eastern District of Virginia and U.S. Military Courts-Martial.. Prior to my legal practice, I served for over a decade as a Sailor in the United States Navy. While stationed on the USS Saipan LHA-2, I served on two overseas deployments in the Adriatic Sea due to political turmoil in Albania in 1998 as well as during the 2000 federal elections in the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia. While on shore duty in Washington, DC, I serviced the military offices of the White House, The Pentagon, Defense Intelligence Agency and the Office of Naval Intelligence, among others, as a pay and travel clerk. I have extensive training and experience working on U.S. military benefits.. Following a honorable discharge from the U.S. Navy, I accepted a commission as a Judge Advocate in the U.S. Army Reserve JAG Corps. I subsequently completed military law training at the U.S. Army Judge Advocate General Legal Center and School in Charlottesville, VA as well as the Direct Commission Officer Course in Fort Benning, GA. In addition to my private law practice, I currently serve as an Administrative Law Attorney with the U.S. Army Trial Defense Services (TDS) in Fort Eustis, VA. I previously served as Soldiers’ Counsel for the National Capital Region Physical Evaluation Board in Crystal City, VA as well as a Defense Counsel with TDS in Alexandria, VA.. I focus my private law practice in immigration and nationality law, tax law and military law. As an immigrant myself, I am passionate about helping immigrants achieve their American Dream. I am also passionate about helping my fellow Sailors and Soldiers achieve their maximum benefits in accordance with federal and state law.. I was born and raised in Kenya and currently live in Northern Virginia with my wife and our daughter. When not working or spending time with my family, I spend time volunteering in my community and/or going for long runs.
