Mr. Garvin began hislegal career in 2002 with the Travis County Attorney's Office, where heserved as a misdemeanor prosecutor, interacting with law enforcementofficers, crime victims, defense attorneys, and countless other partiesthat had an interest in the outcome of the case he was working on atthat time. It was in this role that Dax learned to recognize the veryessence of a State's case, understanding not only the elements that theState must prove to convict but the other forces that explain why acase is filed, prosecuted, and tried.
