Ms. Tufts practices in the areas of products liability, industrial accidents, automobile and trucking accidents, premises liability, medical malpractice and fraud. She has tried numerous cases in Alabama that resulted in successful plaintiff’s verdicts. A native of Alabama and a Truman Scholarship recipient, Ms. Tufts graduated summa cum laude from the University of Alabama at Birmingham in 2004. She earned her Juris Doctor, magna cum laude, in 2008 from Georgetown University Law Center, where she was inducted into the Order of the Coif and graduated in the top 5% of her class.. Ms. Tufts is committed to giving back to the communities in which she works and lives. She received the 2012 Distinguished Service Award from the South Alabama Volunteer Lawyers Program (“SAVLP”), which recognized her both for providing pro bono legal representation to members of the community and for helping to raise money for the SAVLP. She currently serves on the Board of Directors of the Alabama Citizens for Constitutional Reform, Inc. In addition, Ms. Tufts is a graduate of the 2010 Alabama Leadership Initiative ("ALI"), a program through which emerging leaders from across the state explore various issues associated with education, economic development and government. During law school, Ms. Tufts volunteered nearly 200 hours at the Neighborhood Legal Services Program in Washington, D.C., an organization that represents those who cannot afford legal counsel. Before going to law school, she served as Executive Director of Impact: An Alabama Student Service Initiative, a statewide nonprofit organization that manages college preparatory, healthcare, and financial literacy programs designed to enable student volunteers to be part of structural and systemic change in Alabama.
