My passion for immigration stems from my own personal circumstances. Like many, my grandparents immigrated to the U.S. around the turn of the last century from the Southern Mediterranean. But beyond that, I personally sponsored my spouse years ago, which allowed me to directly experience the process (and its uncertainties, ambiguities, etc.).
