Linda S. Pacer, the founder and principal of Pacer Law LLC, is an estate planning and elder law attorney who provides advocacy, advice and answers to individuals ant their families.. In addition to wills and trusts, and probate administration, her practice focuses on financial powers of attorney, advance directives for health care, assisted living and nursing home issues (including monthly visits), reverse mortgages contract review, Medicaid and long-term care planning, guardianships and conservatorships, and veterans' benefits.. Ms. Pacer also represents elderly victims of financial abuse and others involved in investment disputes in court actions and securites arbitration and mediation proceedings before FIRA  and has successfully done so for over 20 years.  Ms. Pacer has counseled and helped many clients facing the loss of their retirement or life savings and understands their special needs and concerns.. She earned a B.A. degree summa cum laude in history and French from Daemen College in Amherst, New York, and M.A. and Ph.D. degrees in history from the State University of New York at Buffalo.  She received her J.D. degree from the University of Pennsylvania Law School where she took several courses in conjunction with the Wharton School.. Before moving to Atlanta, Ms. Pacer worked as a "lawyer's lawyer" in the Washington, D.C. office of one of the country's preeminent law firms, Fried, Frank, Harris, Shriver & Jacobson.. Ms. Pacer is an active member of the State Bar of Georgia, the New York Bar, WealthCounsel and the National Academy of Elder Law Attornesy.  In addition to her role as Chair of the Atlanta Bar Association's Elder Law Section, she also serves as a Board Member of the Estate Planning and Probate Section.. She is admitted to practice before all Georgia state courts, the United States District Court for the Northern District of Georgia and the Eleventh Circuit Court of Appeals.  She is also accredited to represent clients before the Veterans Administration.. In 1999, Ms. Pacer was awarded Martindale-Hubbell's highest legal ability rating of "AV," a distinction she continues to hold today that is given to less than 5% of attorneys nationwide.. Ms. Pacer speaks frequently at continuing education seminars for estate planning and elder law attorneys, and at informational events for the public.  She especially enjoys giving preventive legal advice and discussing the many estate planning options available to singles, couples and families.  Her presentations often focus on educating seniors on their rights and explaining how best to protect themselves and safeguard their assets.
