She serves on the boards of Maine’s Legal Services for the Elderly, Maine’s Justice Action Group, the Portland Education Foundation, and the Peaks Island Fund. Barbara earned her Bachelor’s of Journalism degree and Juris Doctor from the University of Missouri in Columbia. Barbara, her husband and two sons live on Peaks Island. They enjoy Casco Bay in the summer and Maine’s mountains in the winter.
