Joe practices primarily in the areas of employment and civil rights litigation in federal and state court.  Joe’s employment practice focuses on recovery of unpaid or underpaid wages and overtime for employees and recovery of damages caused by unlawful discrimination, harassment and retaliation.  Joe also seeks redress on behalf of clients for civil rights abuses and police misconduct, including disputing "tresspass admonishments."  In addition, Joe has litigated cases involving insurance bad faith, personal injury, housing discrimination, and criminal post-conviction relief.. Joe was a Law clerk to the Honorable Marsha J. Pechman of the Western District of Washington from 2002-2004, and a Law clerk to the Honorable Betty Binns Fletcher of the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals from 2004-2005.  Joe served as a Peace Corps Volunteer in national parks in Madagascar from 1994-1997.
