Alexander Klein Bio
Alexander Klein is the head of Barket Epstein’s commercial litigation unit and a co-chair of its division on Civil Rights. He joined the firm in 2013 after having worked for the Bank of New York Mellon and Merrill Lynch, as well as on the floor of the New York Stock Exchange. He then graduated from the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law with a full merit scholarship.. Since joining the firm, Mr. Klein has helped grow the civil litigation practice exponentially. In the commercial sphere, he has represented and won cases for companies of all sizes, from growing local businesses to international publicly traded corporations. He has won cases that clients and prior lawyers labeled “impossible,” and won decisions that changed the law for clients’ respective industries. He has also been at the cutting edge of a range of litigation practice areas spanning from commercial finance to scholastic discipline to the ever-sensitive interface between civil and criminal law.. In addition to his commercial practice, Mr. Klein has been a driving force in Barket Epstein’s renowned division on civil rights. In that capacity, he has contributed to several newsworthy matters, including Christopher Loeb’s civil rights case that helped lead to the imprisonment of Suffolk County’s District Attorney and Chief of Police and Samuel Brownridge's wrongful conviction case against the City of New York. He has also represented clients in quieter but equally important matters, recovering millions of dollars on behalf of many disadvantaged members of society.. Applying his commercial and financial background, Mr. Klein also represents criminal defendants in high-stakes white collar federal cases. There, in the white collar sphere, he has been recognized several years in a row by Super Lawyers as a “Rising Star.”
