Amy Wegner Kho’s practice focuses on estate planning, probate and elder law, trust administration, fiduciary representation, business succession planning, and agricultural law, as well as in the areas of real estate and natural resource law.. She discovered her passion for estate planning at an early age, having grown up on her family’s working cattle ranch in eastern Oregon, where she saw many family farms and ranches destroyed due to lack of estate planning, business succession planning, or tax planning. After witnessing the heartbreak of historic farms and ranches sold due to intestacy battles or estate taxes, her goal is to help families create estate plans and small businesses create succession plans to respectfully ease the transfer of assets after disability or death.. Ms. Kho received her law degree from the University of Denver Sturm College of Law and holds a bachelor’s degree in English / Writing Emphasis and a master’s degree in English from Boise State University. She is licensed to practice law in both Colorado and Idaho.. Ms. Kho loves sharing her passion for estate planning and is a frequent speaker at community and professional organizations. She has also taught several continuing legal education seminars to other attorneys, including classes such as Estate Planning for Farm and Ranch Owners: Key Issues for Planners and Administrators.. Ms. Kho is an active member of the Colorado Bar Association, where she served as the chair of the Agricultural & Rural Law Section and has served on the section’s Executive Council. In addition, she has served on the Elder Law Section Executive Council and is a current member of the Trust & Estate section and Elder Law section. In addition to service at the Colorado Bar Association, Ms. Kho is co-chair of the programming committee and active member of the Women’s Estate Planning Counsel, and a member of the Rocky Mountain Estate Planning Council.. Understanding the significance of community service, Ms. Kho is a current director on the board for the Denver Church of Christ; and is a past board member on the Town of Erie Historic Preservation Advisory Board. Ms. Kho lives in Erie, Colorado with her husband, Rama and their four children whom she enjoys spending her free time with. She also loves riding horses, quilting and working on her family’s cattle ranch.. Amy Wegner Kho is primarily located in the firm’s downtown Denver office, yet represents clients across all of Colorado, including eastern Colorado and the western slope. Ms. Kho frequently meets clients in the firm’s northern Colorado offices in Fort Collins and Greeley, Colorado.
