I am the owner and founder of Tamar Dyson Legal Services. After 38 years as an attorney, I am finally realizing my dream to open law firm dedicated to helping disabled military veterans obtain the benefits that they have earned through their faithful and dedicated service to our Country.. I am accredited by the Department of Veterans Affairs to prepare, present, and prosecute claims for Veterans Benefits before the Department of Veterans Affairs and the Board of Veterans Appeals. I am also admitted to represent veterans before. the US Court of Appeals for Veterans Claims.. I am licensed to practice in California and the District of Columbia Court of Appeals. However, I can represent Veterans in all 50 States.. I am a Vietnam Era veteran and enlisted in the Women’s Army Corps in 1974, three weeks after my 18th birthday. I served as a Paralegal and Military Judge’s Clerk and earned my commission as an Officer in 1978. I retired as a Captain and began practicing as an attorney in 1985.. In my initial years, I honed my litigation skills by working as a business litigation associate at Morrison & Foerster, Cooley Godward Huddleston and Tatum (now Cooley LLC) and Marron Reid and Sheehy.. I decided that I wanted to return to government service, therefore, in March of 2007 I joined the Legal Division of the California Department of Resources, Recycling and Recovery (CalRecycle) as a Senior Attorney practicing environmental law.. My duties at CalRecycle included: Representing the Director in administrative hearings, advising the Director and staff on principles of administrative law and practice and a variety of state laws, including the Bagley-Keene Act, the Public Records Act, the California Environment Quality Act, evaluating compliance with the Integrated Waste Management Act, and drafting and finalizing regulations implementing California's groundbreaking environmental legislation – Senate Bill 1383 – The Short-Lived Climate Pollutant Reduction Act. I retired from state service in March 2023.. I am admitted to the California Supreme Court, the US Court of Appeals for the Federal District, the US Court of Appeals for Veterans Claims, and the Northern and District Courts for the Northern and Eastern District of California.. If you are, or know, a veteran desiring to appeal an adverse decision on a claim for disabilty by the Veterans Administration please contact my office to arrange a free consultation.
