Marie A. Corliss, Esq., received her bachelors in philosophy at Fordham University in 1982. She then went on to Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law, Yeshiva University where she earned her J.D. in 1985.. While at Cardozo, she was the International Law Review Articles Editor, and a member of the Regional Champion Moot Court Team. Upon graduation, Marie was admitted to the practice of Law in New York.. Marie began her career with the Bronx District Attorney’s Office, in the Appeals Bureau where she concentrated on research, legal writing, and oral arguments. Later, she gained intensive trial experience prosecuting burglary, robbery, and perpetrators of Special Victims, including child and elder abuse.. During the years raising her family, Marie worked part-time on criminal appeals, and as counsel to nursing homes. In 2004, she worked for Vincent Russo and Associates before moving on to Covey, Roberts, Corliss, and Carmody-Roberts in Katonah, NY, where she became a partner focusing exclusively in the area of Elder Law.. In 2011, Marie Corliss established the Corliss Law Group, which has offices on the East and West Sides of Northern Westchester, in addition to her Manhattan office, where she also sees many clients. The Corliss Law Group is entirely devoted to the fields of Estate Planning and Elder Law. Individual attention to each client’s unique needs and goals is of paramount importance.. Marie A. Corliss, Esq. is a member of the Board of Directors of the Putnam County Estate Planning Council, the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys, New York State Bar Association, Westchester Bar Association, Westchester Women’s Bar Association, and Northern Westchester Bar Association. She is also a frequent lecturer on Estate Planning and Medicaid Planning.
