Theodore J Casten      Ted is the President and Managing Shareholder of Casten & Pearce, APLC and is a life-time resident of Shreveport, Louisiana.  He is married to Maria Casten.  He has been married for 35 years and has 3 adult children, Nicholas, Elizabeth, and William. Ted received his B.A. degree from LSU in Baton Rouge in 1981 and his J.D. degree in 1985 from LSU Law School. Ted was on the Robert Lee Tullis Moot Court Board and was a Tullis Moot Court semi-finalist.  He is a member of the Louisiana Association of Defense Council (Past Director District 6, 1998-2000).  He was admitted to the practice of law in Louisiana in 1985 and the U.S. District Courts for the Eastern and Western Districts of Louisiana in 1987.   He is a member of the Shreveport (Secretary-Treasurer 1992) and State of Louisiana Bar Associations and is a member of the insurance committee. He served on the LSU Paul Hebert Law Center, Board of Trustees, 2002-2004. He is a member of the Louisiana Insurance Commissioner's Surplus Lines Advisory Council. Ted currently serves as a Board Member and Membership Chairman and is the immediate past President of the Shreveport Petroleum Club. Ted’s practice has always focused on insurance, casualty and personal injury defense with an emphasis on extra-contractual and bad faith litigation.  He has an AV rating by the LexisNexis Martindale-Hubbell Directory and has tried over 30 jury trials to verdict in Louisiana.  Ted is a board member of the Northwest Louisiana chapter of the Red Cross, and immediate Past Chairman and current Board Member of the Parish Council of St. Nicholas Orthodox Christian Church.
