She then worked as a corporate counsel for National Video Inc., a national franchiser of video rental outlets throughout the United States and Canada, handling all aspects of National Video's legal affairs and litigation.. She works with small and medium sized businesses in all of their legal matters. Her representation of business clients includes handling their litigation before mediators, arbitrators, and state and federal courts. She also works in the area of estate planning, preparing wills and trusts, powers of attorney, and advance directives. Her practice includes handling probates, trust administration, conservatorships/guardianships as well as litigating such matters.. She has served on the Washington County Bar Association as a board member, treasurer, and secretary, as well as Chair of the Washington County Judicial Screening Committee. She has also served as a board member of the Beaverton Library Foundation. In 2003, Ms. Mitchell originated legislation of a law that assesses treble damages against those who defraud the elderly.. She received her law degree from UCLA Law School and her undergraduate degree with honors from the University of the Pacific in Stockton, California. She is a member of the Oregon, California and Arizona State Bar Associations.
