During their time as an attorney, Clark McVey has specialized predominantly in criminal defense, ranging from misdemeanor offenses to major felonies such as property crimes, drug offenses, and person crimes including manslaughter and murder.. Clark received their undergraduate degree in Philosophy from Missouri State University (MSU) in Springfield, Missouri. While attending MSU, Clark was chair of the Student Philosophy Organization, as well as presenting at several philosophy conferences, including one at Pacific University in Forest Grove, Oregon. Clark would then go on to receive their J.D. from the University of Missouri School of Law in Columbia, Missouri, where they were a Student Bar Association Representative and President of the Association for Intellectual Property and Entertainment Law. Clark also externed with Mid-Missouri Legal Services in their Landlord-Tenant division, representing indigent clients facing eviction or foreclosure.. After law school, Clark went on to work with the Missouri State Public Defender in Jefferson City, Missouri, where they learned in the field what it meant to be a zealous advocate for those facing criminal prosecution.
