She obtained a J.D. from Hamline University School of Law, where she was active on Law Review, the National Moot Courtteam, and the Alternative Dispute Resolution program, earning certification in mediation and arbitration from the nationally-ranked Dispute Resolution Institute; Ph.D./ABD from Kent State University; M.A. from North Dakota State University; B.A. from Minnesota State University Moorhead; and A.A. from Minot State University-Bottineau, where she played college basketball..
