I am General Counsel of the New York State Department of Agriculture and Markets, where I manage the Office of Counsel, litigate cases of significance to the Department  and, as the Department's chief legal officer, provide advice to the Department's executive staff and its divisions.  Prior to accepting my appointment, I was in private practice, litigating business, commercial, intellectual property, information technology and construction disputes.. I have been involved in virtually all facets of civil litigation and alternative dispute resolution.  I have served as an arbitrator and commercial mediator and am an adjunct associate professor at CUNY's School of Professional Studies, where I teach negotiation and dispute resolution.
