Mosby-Scott grew up in Southern Illinois. She obtained her Bachelors of Arts Degree from Eastern Illinois University. Michelle then attended Southern Illinois University where she obtained her Juris Doctor. In law school, Michelle served as Survey Editor of the Law Journal and was selected to participate in the Moot Court program her second and third years. Immediately after graduation, Michelle relocated to Central Illinois where she began practicing law. Michelle founded the law firm of Allison & Mosby-Scott in 2000 with William Allison.. Michelle is a published author and has held leadership positions in the Illinois State Bar Association and the American Bar Association. In 2016 Michelle was selected for membership in the The National Advocates: Top 100 for the state of Illinois.
