Michael J. Murphy was born on a U.S. Army base in Frankfort, Germany. Since returning to the U.S. mainland as a child, he has lived in Illinois for the majority of his life where he is currently a resident of Cary, IL, along with his wife and their two sons.. Mr. Murphy was admitted to the Illinois Bar in 2000. Since that time, he has concentrated his practice primarily in transactional matters involving residential and commercial real estate, estate planning (wills & trusts), and business development. He majored in International Studies at DePaul University where he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree, magna cum laude, in 1997. Following DePaul, Mr. Murphy studied law at llT/Chicago-Kent College of Law, from where he graduated with a Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree in 2000. In 2005, Mr. Murphy achieved the professional distinction of becoming a Certified Relocation Professional (CRP).. Since he began practicing law in 2000, Mr. Murphy has been an active member of the Illinois State Bar Association. He firmly believes in the importance of continuing legal education, and regularly participates in accredited programs regarding current legal trends and developments. In addition, Mr. Murphy periodically presents seminars on legal topics involving his areas of concentration.
