After graduating from Ave Maria, Brett obtained his Master of Laws (LL.M.) in Agricultural and Food Law at the University of Arkansas School of Law, where he studied land tenure and federal agricultural policy as well as farm programs, crop insurance, and farm financing. He served the University of Arkansas as a graduate teaching and research assistant.
