About Taniya Reaves
Taniya Reaves is a 2016 graduate of North Carolina Central University School of Law. She passed the February 2017 NC Bar Exam and was sworn into the North Carolina Bar May 23, 2017. In addition to North Carolina state court, Taniya is also admitted to federal court in the North Carolina Middle District, including Bankruptcy Court. She is also in the process of gaining admission to the District of Columbia Bar. Although recently admitted to the NC Bar, Taniya has been wielding in the legal field for almost seven years. She was Lead Paralegal for a solo practitioner for four years and was Senior Paralegal for the Guilford County Attorney's Office for three years. She is currently the Assistant County Attorney for Guilford County full time. Taniya also engages in private practice, but cannot represent clients for any departments which fall under Guilford County including, but not limited to, representation for Child Support, DSS matters, Animal Control, Planning and Development, and Zoning Enforcement.. Taniya attended undergraduate studies and got her Bachelor's degree in Psychology at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She obtained her Early Childhood Credentials I and II from the State of North Carolina and is a qualified lead teacher. She obtained her Master's Degree in Education from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. After the State of North Carolina discontinued differential pay for teachers with Master's Degrees, Taniya sought a career change and began attending Guilford Technical Community College under the direction and tutilage of Robert "Bob" S. Payne and Samuel L. Richardson, III. With Bob's guidance and mentorship, Taniya graduated from GTCC with a 4.0 and gained an Associates in Science for Paralegal Technology before sitting for the North Carolina Bar's Paralegal Certification Exam. Taniya became a North Carolina Certified Paralegal in May 2013. She is also a Notary Public and has been since 1995.. Taniya served as a civil litigation paralegal throughout her career and is proud to transfer those skills into her practice as a civil litigation attorney. She always gives her clients her undivided attention and prides herself on exceptional customer service and response times in dealing with her clients. In addition, Taniya's lengthy experience in the legal field has only strengthened her career as an attorney. She FIGHTS for her clients and is proud to sat that at The Law Office of Taniya D.
