Arvinder Ubhi graduated from St Mary’s University, London, United Kingdom in 2008 with a Joint Bachelor’s degree (with honors) in History and Business Management. He continued his studies and earned his Juris Doctor, graduating Cum Laude, in 2011 from Thomas M. Cooley Law School in Auburn Hills, Michigan. During his studies at Thomas M. Cooley, Arvinder gained hands on experience in the legal world through interning as in-house counsel at Behr America, Inc., located in Troy MI. In this position Arvinder worked directly with the General Counsel to manage the legal liability and ensure Behr, its departments and employees complied with all state and federal laws. At the start of 2010 Arvinder interned with Plunkett Cooney, P.C., where he worked in the Real Estate department. Arvinder researched real estate issues, drafted legal memoranda for the attorneys in the department, and attended depositions and various court proceedings. From September 2011 to April 2012, Arvinder worked as in-house counsel at Renali Transport (a part of the Renali Enterprises, LLC., holding company). In this position, Arvinder worked directly with the President of Renali to handle all corporate issues pertaining to the company, and primarily handled the collection of unpaid transportation bills, practicing in both District and Circuit Court.In April 2012, Arvinder joined Ellis Porter, PLC., where he specializes in Employment based immigration law, both non-immigrant and immigrant visas. Arvinder works with clients to determine the most effective visa for both the employer and employee’s long-term or short-term goals. Arvinder will also help his client transition from a non-immigrant visa to an immigrant visas.
