Before forming Lance White Law, I was an owner and partner of Widdis and White, a family law firm.  Prior to that, I served as a Family Court Master for the Second Judicial District Court in Washoe County. In that role, I heard over 16,000 cases involving a myriad of family law issues, including child support enforcement, domestic violence and protection orders, juvenile guardianships, and juvenile dependency cases. I also have experience with juvenile delinquency, divorce, custody, visitation, and adoption cases.. In deciding a case, a judicial officer must know the law, know the facts, and be able to understand both sides of every argument. I carry that ability with me into private practice. I will give you an objective, honest opinion about your case and not just tell you what I think you want to hear.. I attended Case Western Reserve University School of Law in Cleveland, Ohio. After I graduated, I served as a Judicial Law Clerk to three different Family Court Judges here in Reno, Nevada. Through that experience, I came to realize how important the “legal" side of the family legal system is, and how important it is to have a strong and compassionate advocate on your side.. I have been licensed to practice law in Nevada since 2006 and have appeared in Federal Court and State District Court throughout the State of Nevada.   I have also served as a Judicial Law Clerk to three different Family Court Judges. I believe that being a good lawyer also means being a good teacher. Helping clients understand what’s happening and explaining legal matters in a straightforward way is one of the best parts of being an attorney. I have taught family law issues locally, at the statewide Nevada Family Law Conference, and at national judicial conferences. I also taught aspiring paralegals at a local career college.. My greatest adventures have been climbing in Antarctica, hiking Monte Fitz Roy in Argentina, skydiving, and parenting two rowdy boys - the most dangerous and important adventure of all.
