Dan is certified by the State Bar of California Board of Legal Specialization as a Certified Legal Specialist in Taxation, a designation earned by less than 400 of the approximately 200,000 attorneys licensed in California.  Dan has earned an LL.M (Master of Laws) in taxation from Chapman University School of Law, and he is a Certified Public Accountant, and Real Estate Broker.  He is the past Chairman of the California State Bar Tax Policy Committee.  Dan is also an adjunct professor of taxation at Whittier College of Law.. Dan began his career as a Certified Public Accountant in 1983 working at the prestigious firm Kenneth Leventhal & Company (later acquired by Ernst and Young).  Dan has practiced as a CPA and Attorney in the area of taxation for 26 years.  He has represented clients before the United States Tax Court, and various other courts in California, the Appeals and Audit Division of the Internal Revenue Service, before the State Board of Equalization, and the California Franchise Tax Board.. Dan has earned the prestigious American Jurisprudence Award and Cal Jur Award for excellence in Wills, Trusts, Estate Tax, Federal Tax, Corporations, and Partnership Tax.  This means that Dan was the top student in these classes in law school.  The very classes that he chose to focus his practice on.. Dan serves on the tax litigation committee of the State Bar of California.  He is a member of the tax, and trust and probate sections of the Orange County Bar Association, as well as the American Bar Association.  He is also a member of the Orange Coast Estate Planning Council..
