Dan is certified by the State Bar of California Board of Legal Specialization as a Certified Legal Specialist in Taxation, a designation earned by less than 400 of the approximately 200,000 attorneys licensed in California.  Dan has earned an LL.M (Master of Laws) in taxation from Chapman University School of Law, and he is a Certified Public Accountant, and Real Estate Broker.  He is the past Chairman of the California State Bar Tax Policy Committee.  Dan is also an adjunct professor of taxation at Whittier College of Law.. Dan began his career as a Certified Public Accountant in 1983 working at the prestigious firm Kenneth Leventhal & Company (later acquired by Ernst and Young).  Dan has practiced as a CPA and Attorney in the area of taxation for 26 years.  He has represented clients before the United States Tax Court, and various other courts in California, the Appeals and Audit Division of the Internal Revenue Service, before the State Board of Equalization, and the California Franchise Tax Board..
