During law school, William obtained membership in the Order of the Wig and Robe and on the South Carolina Law Review. As the Peer Review Editor of the Law Review, he led the development of the Peer Reviewed Scholarship Marketplace, a consortium of student-edited legal journals committed to incorporating peer review in their article-selection process. He also served as President of the law school’s American Constitution Society chapter, and in 2010 was selected by the Society as a “Next Generation Leader.”.
