Jamie Kozisek is an attorney with The Law Offices of Jay Shehadeh, P.A. where she focuses her practice on the areas of Family Law, Real Estate, and Foreclosure Defense.. Prior to her work the with Law Offices of Jay Shehadeh, P.A. Jamie graduated from Florida State University College of Law, where she was the Senior Articles Editor of the Journal on Transnational Law and Policy and a member of the Jessup International Law Moot Court Team.  She received the College of Law's Certificate of Outstanding Pro Bono Service and was awarded the "Book Award" for Negotiations, International and Foreign Legal Research, and Immigration Law.. Jamie's experience with family law stems in large part from her participation in the FSU Children's Advocacy Clinic where she represented children in dependency court and worked to ensure that appropriate services were provided to children in state custody and to children with special educational needs.. She has also represented individuals subject to immigration deportation or removal proceedings through the Florida International University College of Law Immigration and Human Rights Clinic.. Jamie interned at the Florida Supreme Court in the Dispute Resolution Center where she built a familiarity with Alternative Dispute Resolution methods such as mediation and arbitration.. Most recently Jamie served as a Law Clerk at the Special Tribunal for Lebanon in The Hague, Netherlands.  Prior to this, she was awarded a Florida Bar Foundation Public Service Fellowship, which allowed her to serve as a Graduate Assistant at The Carter Center Conflict Resolution Program where she worked on issues of domestic terrorism legislation, election law, and domestic and international mediation and negotiation efforts.. Jamie earned two Bachelor of Arts degrees from Florida State University in Communications and Middle Eastern Studies.  After study in Spain, Morocco, and Lebanon, she graduated cum laude.
