After serving our country in the U.S. Air Force, I attended the nation's olderst law school - The College of William and Mary School of Law. I chose William and Mary because of its strong national reputation, and its committment to training citizen lawyers - lawyers who are committed to the communities they serve. At Tomoka Law PLLC, that community involvement includes providing scholarships to high school seniors, and partnering with charitable organizations. I reside locally in Ormand Beach. My family includes my wife, Dr. Annemarie Etienne Hester, M.D., an Ophthalmologist practicing in Volusia and Flagler Counties, two teenage daughters, three grown sons, and a Boxer puppy named Apollo.

My parents instilled in me at an early age the importance of community, education and pride in this country. These values are why I am dedicated to becoming YOUR TRUSTED ADVISOR committed to YOU and your FAMILY’s future. To provide guidance and advice as you craft a future that allows you to grow and succeed and provide security for your children.. I have been practicing law for 23+ years, beginning my career in private practice, as an associate and then a partner in a small law firm in Lakeland, Harris & Gonzalez, where I concentrated in Family Law. Beginning December 2008 through September 2017, I transitioned my career to focusing my efforts in the non-profit realm, as Executive Director to both the Heart of Florida Legal Aid Society, Inc. and the Lee County Legal Aid Society. Having loved my work with these agencies and the impact we made in the community, I found that I missed building those meaningful connections and bonds with the individuals and families I served.. Committed to the care and future of my clients and their families, providing personalized service for each client. I created this business with the needs of my clients and their families in mind. I understand you are BUSY, you are growing, you are planning for a life of prosperity and you value ease, convenience and efficiency. You want to know you’ve made the best decisions for your family and that your plan will work when your loved ones need it most. Our mission is to make quality legal representation affordable for everyone. To do this, our office leverages technology and collaboration to maximize efficiency. We quote low up-front fee advances, competitive rates, affordable retainer fees, and offer flexible payment arrangements. In this way, we expand access to legal representation to those who may not otherwise be able to afford hiring an aggressive, skilled attorney to handle their legal matters.. The practice of law should be a partnership between the attorney and the client, where the client and his or her objectives are the central focus of the representation. We commit to following these guiding principles: Clients will have a direct, personal relationship with their attorney; clients' phone calls will be answered or returned promptly; clients will be fully informed about the status of their case; clients will have input into every major tactical or strategic decision in their case; the cost of the case will be minimized consistent with requirements; and clients will be treated with the respect and dignity that they deserve.. By following these principles and making each client the focal point of the representation, we do everything possible to deliver quality, client-centric legal representation to those who place their trust in our office as their legal services provider.
