Kent E. I went to law school to help make people's lives better and practicing family law has been one of the most rewarding ways in which to do that.  Divorce and child custody issues involve some of the most emotionally charged and traumatic events people encounter.  I enjoy (for the most part) helping folks see the light at the end of the tunnel and helping them find ways to make the best of an otherwise terrible time in their lives.. While the "law" certainly is a critical part of practicing family law, my own personal experience during my divorce and subsequent custody battles (the divorce took four years to obtain and the custody battles took place about every two years for well over a decade) give me ground level experience about the emotional trauma that goes along with these types of cases.  I have to say that I finally got wise and married my best friend from high school and have been happily married to him for almost 20 years.  We have lots of kids (only a few of which I actually birthed - the rest  came over to eat dinner and never really left) and a very firm belief that it is possible to create your own family, regardless of blood ties.  (We were the "Blind Side" long before the movie came out, just for the record.). On the other hand, I served as General Counsel for a multinational corporation prior to practicing family law, so I have a strong business background and understand where the money can sometimes go in family owned businesses.  I can comfortably track assests and income streams from many sources and understand how division of marital busineses can alter the business valuations.. Going to court is my work version of chocolate.  I absolutely love it and it has the added benefit of being fat free.

I have been representing debtors in bankruptcy for over 10 years in the greater Atlanta area and have successfully handled thousands of cases. I was previously the managing partner at a large bankruptcy firm and recently started my own firm with the goal of providing the highest level of client service. I grew up in Toledo, Ohio. I knew from when I was young I wanted to be an attorney. I received bachelor degrees from Miami (OH) University in 1998, graduating cum laude. I then went on to attend law school at Wake Forest University School of Law where I earned my Juris Doctor in 2001. Shortly after graduating law school, I passed the Georgia Bar and began my career.. I have been practicing law continuously since 2001. During the first 14½ years my practice was focused on representing companies and insurers in personal injury actions. My specialty was defending truck drivers, motor carriers, and their insurers. For the most part, I enjoyed the legal work but the case’s results often left me empty and unfulfilled. When I did my job well, an injured person’s recovery was limited or, in some cases, eliminated. I needed to make a change, and I did.  In 2015, I transformed my practice. Instead of representing companies and insurers, I changed to filing lawsuits against them. I enjoy being part of the solution instead of one of the many obstacles standing between the injured person and their just compensation.. When I am not practicing law, I can be found in Alpharetta spending time with my wife and two kids. My weekends are spent on soccer fields and/or basketball courts. If I am not with my family, I am likely cheering on my beloved Cleveland Browns, Cleveland Cavaliers, and Cleveland Guardians.

I began practicing family law while still a student in Seton Hall University Law School in New Jersey and found that I loved it.
