Firm: Ramos James Law, PLLC

Laura Ramos James will fight harder for you than any other personal injury attorney out there.. HERE’S WHY:. A victim of a severe personal injury incident herself while growing up in Mexico, Laura developed a yearning for justice early on in life. It wasn’t until college when she learned that something could have been done in the civil court system to help Laura and her family if they had had an accident lawyer on their side. Since then, Laura has taken every single opportunity to learn how the system can help accident victims.. Laura graduated college from St. Mary’s University in San Antonio, Texas with honors, even though she had just recently learned English. She went on get her law degree at Baylor Law School, ranked second in the nation for its rigorous trial advocacy program. After law school, Laura was eager to polish her litigation skills, so she went on to work for a boutique insurance defense firm defending large insurance companies in South Texas. It was soon clear that her heart was with the victims, with the injured, with those who regularly got taken advantage of by the big companies. Laura moved to Austin and became a plaintiff’s lawyer.. Despite looking young, Laura has over a decade of legal experience. She has handled hundreds of personal injury cases: auto and trucking accidents, drunk driving accidents, distracted driver accidents, commercial vehicle accidents, work injury, product liability, Texas Health Care Liability claims, sexual assault cases, complex construction accident and construction defects, catastrophic injury, wrongful death cases and more. Laura founded her law own firm, Ramos James Law, PLLC in 2018. However, she was primarily responsible for a number of large settlements recovered at her prior firms.. Laura prides herself in not being your typical lawyer. Even with all of her experience and educational background, she stays away from “legalese” and “legal terms” when talking to her clients, and enjoys breaking down complicated concepts to their basic meaning so that her clients can fully understand what is going on and have realistic expectations about their case. Read what her former clients say about her  in the "Reviews" tab.. Laura considers herself an “adopted Austinite” and during her spare time, she enjoys running outdoors with her husband, grabbing a bite somewhere in town, and spending time with their friends and their two rescue long hair Chihuahuas.
