I represent clients in patent infringement, complex commercial litigation, employment, and class action litigation matters nationwide.  As a litigator, I have conducted  and defended over 60 depositions across a broad spectrum of cases. I have also argued hearings in various federal courts on substantive motions in patent infringement, employment, and commercial litigation cases, and have regularly drafted and responded to case dispositive motions. I acted as trial counsel to over 300 plaintiffs in mass action employment litigation filed in federal court, and obtained a $4.03 million jury verdict on behalf of two plaintiffs in a ten plaintiff bellwether jury trial—second largest employment litigation verdict in Texas in 2012; ranked among top 5 employment litigation verdicts in Texas in 2010-2013.

I represent and counsel clients on a wide variety of civil litigation matters, including business and commercial lawsuits, construction and real estate disputes, fraud and breach of contract actions, employment and non-compete claims. In this context, I have represented and advised clients in a variety of matters before municipal, county, district and federal courts, across the entire civil litigation lifecycle.. I also provide ongoing legal counsel and advice to small and medium-sized businesses that need general legal answers to everyday business questions. I have represented multiple Austin-based start-ups as well as provided general corporate and transaction guidance on an ongoing and as needed basis. I practice primarily employment law on behalf of employers.  I provide legal counsel to both small and large companies concerning termination and management of employees and compliance with various laws relating to the workforce. I draft various types of employment agreements and policies.  In addition to defending traditional employment law claims, I have also litigated cases involving non-competition and theft of trade secret issues. I have argued at state and federal appellate courts and have represented clients in front of various arbitration panels and at trial.. My partner and I also conduct independent investigations into employee complaints.  We have been retained by other law firms and directly by employers.  Our investigation practice is national in scope.  We have traveled extensively throughout the United States and internationally to conduct our investigations.I graduated in the top of my class from the University of Texas with a Plan II major and was elected Phi Beta Kappa. I like meeting and working with our creative inventor clients because I get to translate their creativity into formal language and make persuasive legal arguments to the Patent and Trademark Office.
