While in law school, Darren was on the Moot Court Board and served as senior editor on the American Journal of Trial Advocacy. He is licensed to practice law in Alabama and Mississippi in all state and federal courts. His goal is to ensure the highest level of service for his clients and to obtain the most favorable outcome for them, be it in court, or otherwise. Darren is married and has three children.

Darius has dedicated his entire legal career to fighting for justice for victims. While still in law school, he clerked for a prominent personal injury law firm in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, gaining a wealth of valuable experience in the field. After graduation, he began practicing at a large firm in Huntsville, Alabama where he represented clients who were the victims of work-based discrimination and wrongful termination.. Prior to joining Farris, Riley & Pitt, Darius served as a Deputy District Attorney in Jefferson County Alabama where he conducted numerous jury trials representing the victims of all crimes, including theft, robbery, rape, and even murder. Darius now brings his commitment to fairness and justice to Farris, Riley & Pitt.. A true son of the south, Darius was born and raised in Decatur, Alabama; however, his family spent 10 of his formative years living in Atlanta, Georgia. From the beginning, Darius knew he wanted a career in law; and coming from a family of ministers, he knew that he wanted to fight for individuals going through the worst moments of their lives.. Darius received his bachelor’s degree in both Economics and Political Science from Mississippi State University in Starkville, Mississippi. He then earned his J.D. from the University of Alabama School of Law, where he was an active member of the school’s national trial advocacy team.. Darius has spent time studying abroad in both Australia and Japan. Experiencing new languages, people and cultures helped shape his perspective on diversity, and he attributes these experiences for his unique ability to relate to clients from all walks of life and ethnic backgrounds.. Craig Hymowitz is a seasoned financial crime compliance executive.  As General Counsel of COR Clearing LLP, Craig was hired to oversee the company’s compliance and remediation obligations following their consent to a $1 million FINRA penalty.  Before joining COR, Craig was hired as Associate General Counsel of Sterne, Agee & Leach, Inc. to advise their compliance department on the restructuring of its anti-money laundering policies and procedures and transaction monitoring system.. Prior to going in-house, Craig was a partner at Blank Rome LLP in their Litigation and White Collar Defense and Investigations departments.  While there, he co-founded and co-chaired the firm’s Anti-Money Laundering and Economic Sanctions working group.. Craig brings extensive experience advising executive leadership and business units on the evolving anti-money laundering, economic sanctions, anti-bribery and corruption compliance risks.  His practice is focused on representing regulated entities in their dealings with state and federal regulators, law enforcement and self-regulatory organizations.  He has represented banks, broker-dealers, and other financial institutions prepare for and defend themselves during regular and for cause examinations, helped negotiate and respond to regulatory findings, defended firms during enforcement actions, and oversaw any required remediation.. With a background in investigative journalism, internal investigations, and risk management Craig is highly skilled at assessing the specific legal, contractual, and regulatory risks facing financial institutions.  He has built a reputation as a collaborative advisor dedicated to assisting his clients identify, navigate, and mitigate potential legal risks before they become legal problems.. Craig received his J.D. from the University of Pennsylvania Law School and his B.A. cum laude from Cornell University.  He is AV peer review rated and a Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist (CAMS).

Christopher Joseph Balzli was born and raised in Birmingham, Alabama. He is a 2003 graduate of Vestavia Hills High School. Chris obtained his bachelor’s degree from the University of Alabama in 2007, with a major in Political Science and a double minor in Business Management Computer Science. While an undergraduate, Chris was recognized as a Pi Kappa Phi Academic Scholar. Chris went on to earn his Juris Doctorate from Thomas Goode Jones School of Law in Montgomery, Alabama in 2011. As a third year law student, Chris obtained a 3L practice card which allowed him to serve as an intern with the Montgomery County District Attorney’s Office. Before finishing school, Chris also received his certification in Alternative Dispute Resolution.. Chris began his legal career at Beasley, Allen, Crow, Methvin, Portis & Miles, P.C. in Montgomery. While at Beasley Allen, Chris worked in the firms Toxic Tort’s section, focusing mainly on the BP Oil Spill litigation. After four years in Montgomery, Chris decided to move back to his hometown of Birmingham and joined Weaver Tidmore LLC in July of 2014. Chris is an accomplished attorney with litigation experience focused on wrongful death, medical negligence, trucking accidents, auto accidents, and mass tort litigation..
