Our office has operated on Justice Avenue since June 1, 1993. It's a far piece from being an old farm boy from North Louisiana, but it's what I've wanted to do since the Seventh Grade. As a lawyer, I have been representing victims of accidents since 1989. Initially as a law clerk and then as a lawyer, I had the great opportunity to work for one of the most prestigious personal injury attorneys in the state.  I worked there almost exclusively in the fields of medical negligence and maritime accidents.  In 1991, I left for greener pastures to what was at the time the largest personal injury firm in the state.  Not only was my experience in handling cases involving offshore accidents greatly expanded, but I learned how to represent the automobile accident victim. From there, I helped form a partneship which handled only personal injury and wrongful death cases.If it involves an injury from an accident, I've probably handled something similar - whether it's a minor fender bender or a death on the high seas. From those humble beginnings, I now represent people the way I have always wanted to - on a personal level. It starts at the foundation of the relationship - the contract for services.  Most attorneys charge 33%, others 36%, and a well-known advertising irm charges a 40% fee, if they settle your case without filing a lawsuit.  Their fee is much higher if a lawsuit is necessary. This directly affects how much money you will receive for your injury. Edwin L. Born and raised in Baton Rouge, I am a product of our local public schools. I graduated from LSU in 1983 with a degree in Finance. I graduated from Loyola New Orleans Law School in 1987, but before graduating, I tried my first jury case. It was a manslaughter charge. The Orleans District Attorney was impressed enough to offer me a job upon graduation. I was an Assistant District Attorney for Mr. Harry Connick from 1987 through 1990 and have been on my own since then.. As to public service after the District Attorney's Office, in 2009 I was elected to the Louisiana State Senate for the Baton Rouge area, District 16. After attending Southern University Law Center, I was sworn into law practice in 2007.  My law career started in 2003 at Murphy Law Firm where I remained until 2009. Upon leaving Murphy Law Firm, I briefly worked with Matt Lafaso at Lafaso Law Firm handling worker compensation claims.  I then joined Diliberto & Kirin. a New Orleans law firm, where I handled all their local claims for hurricane Gustav claims. Once all Gustav claims were settled,I opened my own doors in 2009.  My primary focus is personal injury, motor vehicle and truck accidents. We have no charge for a consultation and I don't get paid unless you get paid. We work with several great medical providers and it is our goal to get you feeling better and paid.
